Who is ThePoet?
I am not about to chase you away from this site, with a lot of boring mumbo jumbo about who I am, where I was born and the rest of that stuff. In all honesty, that doesn't matter a bit. It's enough to say I am as old as I am today, which is a little older than I was yesterday, and not quite as old as I will be tomorrow.
I fit inside my skin perfectly, and am a little taller than an elf, but a lot smaller than a giant. I love most species of animals, but am especially drawn to unicorns and dragons, eagles and wolves, and most defintely American Black Labs.
I am a poet. That is the single most important piece of information, that you need to know about me. I write.....a lot.There is now, and will always be a place in my soul, which is reserved for the most dangerous of all predators; beautiful women. A beautiful woman has the capacity to make my heart sing.
How many songs and poems have you written?
I have created, somewhere in the neighbourhood of 1,300 or 1,400 song lyrics and poems. I've written music for about 100 of my lyrics, and can actually play 3 of them.
What can I expect to find in these rooms (pages)?
Some links will lead you to poetry, which may make you laugh or cry, and others will take you to my mountain photographs, poetry, and journal entries, which I hope will take your breath away.

IamapoetI write so that I can understand who I am, where I've been, and who I hope to become. In all honesty, I write simply because I have no choice. I write, because I must.
How long have you been writing?
I've been writing poetry and songs, for longer than I care to remember. I wrote my first poem on August 28th, 1969.
Why haven't you published anything?
I've never felt a need to do anything with my material. It was always enough for me simply to know that I had created it. It's never mattered to me if anyone else likes what I do, or if I ever make anything from what I write. The creation has always been all that matters.
As I grew more able to share what I wrote, it seemed that many people liked what I did. This site was designed to be a place where everyone can feel welcome. I truly hope my visitors will feel, even if it's only for a few minutes, that they have connected with another human being.
How often is the site updated?
The site is updated each Sunday morning. Let me rephrase that. The site is updated each Sunday morning, if I'm not out gallivanting about North America.
